Futures, a fast-growing beauty brand, is seeking a Product Development Director to lead the end-to-end strategy for color cosmetics and skincare, driving innovative launches and shaping the brand's future.

Reporting to the COO, you will guide a three-person team, manage international contract manufacturers, and collaborate with senior leadership to deliver a robust pipeline and market-ready products for retail and ecommerce.

Competenze

• 8+ years in beauty product development with expertise in color cosmetics and skincare.
• 4+ years leading product development teams.
• Experience managing full lifecycle from concept to launch.
• Strong knowledge of cosmetic formulations, ingredients and packaging; regulatory awareness (FDA/MoCRA, UK/EU).

We are partnering with an exciting, rapidly growing beauty brand that is making waves across the cosmetics industry. With a strong presence in the digital and social commerce space, an ambitious product innovation pipeline and significant plans for expansion, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a business at a pivotal stage of its growth.

We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded Product Development Director to lead the end-to-end product development strategy, bringing innovative, trend-led beauty products to market.

With cosmetics at the heart of the business, this role offers the opportunity to have a genuine impact on the future direction of the brand.

Reporting directly to the COO, you will lead an established team of three, manage international manufacturing partnerships and work closely with senior leadership to deliver an exciting pipeline of new product launches.

Key Responsibilities

Product Innovation & Strategy

• Lead the overall product development strategy, from initial concept through to successful product launch.
• Develop and manage a long-term innovation roadmap across color cosmetics, skincare and emerging beauty categories.
• Identify new product opportunities through consumer insights, competitor analysis, emerging trends and social media.
• Drive the development of innovative formulas, packaging and product concepts that resonate with consumers.
• Evaluate existing product performance and identify opportunities for range extensions, reformulations and improvements.

End-to-End Product Development

• Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, including formulation, packaging, testing, claims and production.
• Manage multiple product launches simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, budgets and quality standards are achieved.
• Lead product briefs, approvals and development timelines.
• Work closely with Marketing, Design, Sales and Logistics to ensure successful product launches across retail and ecommerce channels.
• Manage product development budgets, cost targets and product margins.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international contract manufacturers.
• Lead supplier negotiations covering costs, timelines, quality and production requirements.
• Oversee product testing, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure products meet relevant international cosmetic regulations and retailer requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiencies and supplier performance.Lead, mentor and develop a team of three product development professionals.
• Work closely with the COO and wider leadership team to shape the future product strategy.
• Collaborate with Marketing to align product launches with consumer trends, creator partnerships and brand campaigns.
• Partner with Sales and Logistics to ensure products are commercially viable and launch-ready.
• Introduce innovative processes, including AI-powered tools, to improve product development efficiency.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an experienced beauty industry professional who combines strong technical product development expertise with commercial awareness, creativity and a genuine passion for innovation.

• 8+ years' experience in beauty product development, with strong expertise across color cosmetics and skincare.
• 4+ years' experience managing and developing product development teams.
• Proven experience managing the full product development lifecycle, from concept through to launch.
• Strong technical understanding of cosmetic formulations, ingredients, raw materials and packaging.
• Experience managing international contract manufacturers, including supplier negotiations, quality control and production.
• Strong knowledge of product testing, claims substantiation and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent project management, leadership and cross-functional communication skills.
• Experience using AI tools to improve workflows and processes.
• Knowledge of international cosmetic regulations, including FDA/MoCRA and UK/EU requirements.
