Growing company with over 500 employees that has been in business for over 50 years has an outstanding opportunity available for a Director of Procurement. This position will have 7 direct reports.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with all functions within the company, including Purchasing, Sales, Operations, R&D, Quality, and external supply base ensure successful execution in supporting growth plans.
- Long range planning and provide insight on supplier managements plans based on quality, cost, ability to serve and other factors.
- Accountable for Supply Chain cost, inventory planning, internal production schedule, and quality containment plans (as they arise).
- Manage Supply Planners and Schedulers.
- Interface with customer customer service to ensure satisfactory standards of service.
- Maintain overall ownership of the Supplier Management process.
- Implement and drive process improvements for a healthy value chain in development and production programs.
- Understanding of Working Capital requirements and impact on the full business. Project cash required to run the business related to inventory and manage turns to meet business plans.
- Lead collaborative teams for tactical and strategic discussions to drive results and overcome barriers.
- Oversee supplier capacity assessments and manage quarterly reviews with key vendors to align the value chain.
- Develop and execute competitive bids and proposals through collaboration with multiple teams.
QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE
- Typically requires: A university Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
- Experience leading personnel and teams in matrixed organizations as a collaborative leader that shares program information and requirements to enable success.
- Experience with Global Supply Chains.
- Proficient in SAP, Excel, and Six Sigma / Lean fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications:
- Material Sales forecasting and execution experience
- Understanding of the Automotive Industry.
- Knowledge of commodity markets, connections to cost structures and ability to model scenarios for future planning.
- Experience leading teams in cost reduction/process improvement initiatives.
- Experience in the plastics industry, plastic resins, and / or injection molding would be a plus.
