Job summary

Unusual Machines in Orlando, FL seeks a Director of Process Engineering to lead the on-site manufacturing organization. You will scale processes, standardize workflows, and mentor the process engineering team across Motors/Flex and Cameras segments.

You will drive data-driven quality using SPC, Six Sigma, and MES systems while ensuring traceability and stringent document control. A strong engineering leadership background in semiconductor/microelectronics manufacturing is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred, with a track record of stabilizing expansion of production lines.
• Experience in semiconductor/microelectronics manufacturing with strict process control.
• Strong mentoring and leadership skills to grow engineering teams.
• Expertise in Six Sigma, DMAIC, SPC and Lean.
• Familiarity with product traceability and document control workflows.
• Onsite manufacturing leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop the Team: Coach and mentor process engineering team for growth and technical excellence.
• Establish Engineering Rigor: Standardize workflows and bring discipline to the assembly environment.
• Drive Quality with Data: Implement SPC and Six Sigma to optimize manual assembly and reduce variance.
• Own Traceability & Systems: Maximize MES usage, ensure traceability, and document control.
• Lead Continuous Improvement: Use DMAIC and Lean to remove bottlenecks and improve yields.
• Empower Leadership: Guide two engineering managers and align teams with scaling milestones.
