Job summary

Chainalysis is seeking a Director of Business Systems & Platform Engineering to lead the shift toward platform and data engineering while owning the integrated technical roadmap for enterprise architectures and data flows.

You will manage and mentor a team of engineers and engineering managers, align standards, and collaborate with Product, Success, and Program Management to translate requirements into technical scope and staffing decisions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software, platform, or data engineering including 4+ years managing engineers and engineering managers.
• Demonstrated ownership of team-based technical architecture and engineering practices.
• Data-first orientation focusing on data architecture and flow.
• Strong working fluency in modern event-based service-oriented architectures using Node.js in a serverless AWS environment.
• Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs and authorization strategies (OAuth, JWT).
• Experience with IaC platforms (e.g. Terraform) for DevOps and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the systems and engineering org through a shift to platform & data engineering.
• Own the technical architecture, design, and delivery roadmap across business systems, data, and integrations.
• Directly manage and grow systems and engineering-track managers and reports; provide mentorship and career pathing.
• Codify standards, style guides, workflows, and ceremonies into a cohesive operating model utilizing AI and agentic processes.
• Translate business, process, and product requirements into technical scope, staffing, and sequencing decisions with cross-functional partners.
• Review architecture proposals, approve technical designs, and own technical builds with vendors and partners.
• Own security, RBAC, and data-governance posture of BADaS platforms, focusing on audit and access-control risk.
• Collaborate with Chainalysis engineering leaders to reuse platforms and code-bases.
