W3Global in Los Angeles seeks an experienced Director of Planning & Engineering to lead engineering, drafting, and permitting operations. The role ensures projects are designed accurately, permitted efficiently, and delivered on schedule with top technical quality.

The ideal candidate is a California PE who enjoys leading teams, mentoring engineers, and solving complex structural challenges.

Qualifications

• Active California SE license required.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil/Structural Eng.
• 10+ years structural engineering experience.
• 5+ years leadership experience.
• Plan check, permitting, and engineering operations experience.
• CBC/ASCE 7/ACI/AISC/NDS knowledge.
• Proficient AutoCAD or Revit.

Responsabilités

• Lead and oversee engineering, drafting, and permitting operations.
• Review and approve structural calculations, plans, redlines, and docs.
• Mentor engineers, drafters, and permitting staff.
• Coordinate with production, PM, and sales to stay on schedule.
• Conduct site visits and provide technical guidance for field revisions.
• Ensure compliance with CBC and applicable design standards.
• Monitor performance, schedules, budgets, and engineering revenue.
• Lead planning meetings and set departmental priorities.
