Job summary

New Jersey Resources' New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) is seeking a Director System Enhancement to lead the day-to-day and long-term system enhancement activities for safe, reliable delivery of natural gas. You will drive TIMP/DIMP programs, PSMS initiatives, and regulatory compliance across the organization.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 10+ years in the natural gas industry with pipeline safety focus, and 5+ years of leadership experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in the natural gas industry, with significant pipeline safety/regulatory focus.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing or leading technical professionals and cross-functional teams.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state pipeline safety regulations, including industry standards for gas transmission and distribution.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret regulatory requirements, assess compliance risks, and develop effective programs to maintain compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Company's Corrosion Engineering to ensure asset integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee TIMP and DIMP programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and industry best practices.
  • Manage PSMS initiatives to strengthen safety culture, risk management, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor, track, and report compliance with federal, state, and local pipeline safety regulations; prepare regulatory submissions.
  • Direct review and enhancement of the SOME Manual to align with regulatory requirements and operational needs.
  • Provide technical leadership for evaluation, testing, specification, and approval of pipeline materials and equipment.
  • Investigate defective materials and coordinate corrective actions with stakeholders, manufacturers, and vendors.
  • Oversee qualification, QA, and performance programs for steel pipe welding and plastic pipe fusion activities.
  • Lead NJBPU inspections, including preparation, regulatory coordination, and remediation of findings.
  • Act as SME and liaison with regulators and industry groups on pipeline safety, integrity, and compliance.
