Job summary

Alameda Health System seeks a Director of Physician Finance and Analytics to lead physician financial performance, workforce strategy, and clinical analytics. You will translate complex data into strategies for growth, efficiency, and sustainability, partnering with executive and physician leadership.

You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, performance analytics, and cross-functional collaborations to optimize service-line economics and resource allocation in a complex health system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field required.
• Master’s degree in healthcare administration, or an MBA, CPA preferred.
• Seven (7) years of experience working with health care information; experience with physician compensation models, Medicare payment models, financial/billing healthcare data (ICD-10, CPT, DRG); project management, consulting or decision support; developing business plans; experience analyzing data within relational database systems and tools, Excel, Pivot tables, etc.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a strategic thought partner and advisor to executive and physician leadership, translating financial/operational information into actionable recommendations and executive presentations.
• Oversees physician financial performance, productivity, compensation, staffing models, contracts, and service-line economics to optimize investments and sustainability.
• Develops executive-level financial reporting, dashboards, and performance analytics for leadership on performance, revenue, expenses, and initiatives.
• Leads development of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial performance plans aligned with strategic priorities.
• Identifies opportunities for revenue enhancement, cost optimization, productivity improvement, and resource utilization across cross-functional teams.
• Evaluates new and existing service lines with business plans, pro formas, volume analysis, and risk assessment; advises on investments and redesigns.
• Supports strategic business development and program assessments for the long-range strategic plan.
• Performs other organizational duties as assigned by executive leadership.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field
