Job summary

Montefiore Nyack Hospital in Nyack, NY is seeking an experienced hospital pharmacy leader to oversee administration, staff, and clinical activities. You will drive budget management, collaborate with medical teams, and ensure adherence to Joint Commission standards and patient safety goals.

The role requires NY pharmacist licensure with 3–5 years in modern hospital pharmacy, preferably in admin or supervisory capacities.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hospital pharmacy experience, preferably in admin/supervisory roles.
• Licensed NY pharmacist required.
• Experience with budgeting and regulatory compliance in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all departmental activities and staff to ensure productivity.
• Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to support safe, cost-effective drug therapy.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards and patient safety goals.
• Prepare and administer the annual budget and manage variances.

Essential Job Qualifications

Experience: 3-5 years experience in modern hospital pharmacy, preferably on administrative and/or supervisory level. N.Y. State Pharmacist license

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Demonstrates the required job specific technical/professional knowledge, skills and abilities.

• Budget control to meet the hospital finances.
• Work closely with medical and nursing staffs and all other hospital personnel.
• Ensure all activities necessary to meet The Join Commission requirements (medication safety and National Patient Safety Goals)
• Oversees all departmental activities and staff to ensure productivity.
• Oversees all departmental clinical activities to ensure rational drug therapy, patient safety at the lowest costs.
• Document on addendum age specific competency.

BUDGET

Prepares and administers the annual budget. Demonstrates ability to manage variances in the budget including Human Resource management and management of expenses. Collaborates with employees to control costs and pursue additional revenue opportunities.

PROJECTS/ASSIGNMENTS

Completes projects/assignments within projected time frames and expectations.
