Job description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This leadership role involves overseeing the comprehensive pharmacy operations at a specialized critical illness recovery hospital dedicated to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU care for chronic and critically ill patients requiring extended healing and recovery. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Pharmacy ensures high standards of clinical, operational, administrative, staffing, and financial management in alignment with regulatory requirements and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the accurate preparation and dispensing of all medications and chemicals across the pharmacy.
• Ensure strict compliance with The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards.
• Manage the Adverse Drug Reaction Program and support patient safety initiatives.
• Develop and lead new employee training and ongoing education programs.
• Participate actively in quality assurance related to drug utilization and therapeutic effectiveness.
• Monitor patient drug therapy collaboratively with clinical teams.
• Implement at least one new clinical program annually, such as Pharmacokinetic Dosing Services or Pain Management.
• Foster a continuous quality improvement culture within pharmacy operations.
• Provide patient and family counseling to support safe medication use.

Qualifications

• Active Oklahoma Pharmacist License in good standing.
• Minimum of three years hospital pharmacy experience within the past five years.
• BLS certification if required by state regulations.
• Completion of all educational requirements for Oklahoma state pharmacy licensure.

Preferred Experience

• PharmD or BS Pharm degree, with an advanced degree or hospital pharmacy residency completion preferred.
• At least one year of pharmacy management or leadership experience.
• Board Certification and residency completion are strong advantages.
• Proven knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS compliance.
• Confidence in leadership roles involving direct CEO collaboration.
