Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn is seeking an Assistant Director of Pharmacy - Brooklyn to oversee clinical services and drug information within the Department of Pharmacy. You will manage clinical pharmacists, coordinate scheduling, and drive project implementation with medical staff committees.

The role requires significant leadership, regulatory knowledge, and ongoing professional development to ensure safe, effective medication use and compliance across the health system.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school.
• New York State Pharmacist Licensure.
• PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Training.
• PGY2 residency training or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years in a progressive pharmaceutical management position.
• Board certification in Pharmacotherapy or other specialty within 18 months of hire.
• Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate clinical activities and drug information services in the Department of Pharmacy.
• Lead and supervise clinical pharmacists; aid scheduling and project development.
• Develop and implement policies presented to medical staff committees.
• Evaluate new medications, regimens, and clinical literature for best practices.
• Serve as a resource to pharmacists, medical and nursing staff for drug information.
• Document and participate in Medical staff and Pharmacy staff meetings.
• Participate in training for Pharmacy Residents and Pharmacy Students.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws governing storage, handling and dispensing of drugs.
• Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and update policies accordingly.
• Support development and maintenance of department policies and procedures; participate in on-call activities.
