Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, part of NYU Langone Health, seeks an Assistant Director of Pharmacy - Brooklyn to oversee clinical services and lead a team of clinical pharmacists. The role includes coordinating projects, policies, and procedures presented to medical staff committees, and ensuring compliance with laws governing drug handling and dispensing.

Qualified candidates will have a PharmD, NY licensure, PGY1/2 training, and board certification in Pharmacotherapy or equivalent with strong

Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school.
New York State Pharmacist Licensure is required.
Completing PGY1 Residency is required; PGY2 or equivalent is preferred.
Board certification in Pharmacotherapy or related specialty due within 18 months of hire.
Strong communication and leadership skills and ability to work with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

Oversee clinical activities of staff and clinical pharmacists.
Coordinate development and implementation of projects and procedures for medical staff committees.
Evaluate newly approved medications and regimens.
Interpret medical literature for evolving standards of care.
Provide drug information resources to pharmacists, clinicians, and nurses.
Lead meetings of Medical staff and Pharmacy staff.
Contribute to experiential training for Pharmacy Residents and Students.
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations on drug handling and dispensing.
