Job summary

Elios Healthcare is seeking an experienced Director of Perioperative Services to provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across perioperative services. This leader will oversee the day-to-day operations of the surgical department while partnering closely with physicians, nursing leadership, anesthesia, and hospital administration to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive perioperative or surgical services experience.
  • Previous management or director-level leadership experience in an operating room or perioperative environment required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex surgical operations.
  • Strong understanding of staffing, budgeting, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and perioperative workflows.
  • Current RN license in Georgia or eligibility for Georgia licensure.
  • BLS certification required.
  • CNOR or other relevant perioperative certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and accountability for perioperative services, including operating rooms and related surgical areas.
  • Direct staffing, scheduling, productivity, resource utilization, and departmental operations.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to improve quality, patient safety, efficiency, and the overall surgical experience.
  • Establish performance goals and use data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build relationships with surgeons, anesthesia, nursing teams, and hospital leadership.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and performance management for perioperative staff.
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor budgets, expenses, supplies, equipment, and capital needs.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve OR utilization, throughput, and case volume.
  • Support implementation of new surgical programs, technology, and processes.
  • Serve as a visible leader for the perioperative services team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and accountability for perioperative services, including operating rooms and related surgical areas.
  • Direct staffing, scheduling, productivity, resource utilization, and departmental operations.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that improve quality, patient safety, efficiency, and the overall surgical experience.
  • Establish performance goals and use operational and clinical data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build strong working relationships with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nursing teams, and hospital leadership.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and professional development for perioperative staff.
  • Promote a culture focused on accountability, teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor departmental budgets, expenses, supplies, equipment, and capital needs.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related healthcare discipline required.
  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive perioperative or surgical services experience.
  • Previous management or director-level leadership experience in an operating room or perioperative environment required.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex surgical operations.
  • Strong understanding of staffing, budgeting, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and perioperative workflows.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Current RN license in the state of Georgia or eligibility for Georgia licensure required.
