Location: NYC | Hybrid: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote

Salary: $200K-$210K base

Industry: Healthcare preferred

Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Payroll to oversee payroll operations for 4,000+ employees in a complex, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end high-volume, biweekly payroll operations.
• Manage and develop the payroll team.
• Ensure payroll tax, NY, and multi-state compliance.
• Oversee reconciliations, reporting, controls, and process improvements.
• Partner with HR, Finance, and senior leadership.
• Support payroll system enhancements and integrations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of payroll experience, including leadership.
• Experience managing payroll for 4,000+ employees.
• Strong NY and multi-state payroll knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Union payroll experience is a major plus.
• Experience with ADP, Workday, Paylocity, Paycom, or similar systems is a plus.
