Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Payroll & Timekeeping Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a critical transformation initiative involving the replacement of our legacy timekeeping system (UKG UTA) with Infor WFM. This system feeds into our payroll platform (UKG Pro) and is central to ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing.
This consultant will play a key role in bridging Payroll, Timekeeping, HR, and Technology teams to ensure a seamless transition while maintaining operational integrity in a highly complex, unionized environment.
Key Responsibilities
Subject Matter Expertise
- Serve as the primary SME for Payroll and Time & Attendance processes
- Provide deep expertise in complex timekeeping rules, including union agreements, overtime rules, shift differentials, and penalties
- Advise on best practices for aligning timekeeping data with payroll processing requirements
Requirements Definition & Documentation
- Lead requirements gathering sessions across stakeholders
- Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical requirements
- Document current state, future state, and gap analyses
- Ensure requirements reflect union compliance and payroll impacts
- Partner with technical architects to define end‑to‑end solution design
- Support integration design between Infor WFM and UKG Pro
- Ensure alignment with payroll processing cycles and audit requirements
- Identify risks related to data integrity and compliance
Testing & Validation
- Lead and support Unit Testing, SIT, UAT, and Parallel Payroll Testing
- Develop test strategies and complex validation scenarios
- Validate payroll outputs against expected results
Operational Readiness & Support
- Partner with Payroll Operations for go‑live readiness
- Support SOPs, job aids, and training materials
- Assist with issue resolution and stabilization
Required Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of experience in Payroll and/or Time & Attendance systems
- Deep expertise with UKG Pro and timekeeping platforms (Infor WFM preferred)
- Proven experience in highly unionized environments
- Strong understanding of payroll processing, controls, and integrations
- Experience in large‑scale system implementations
- Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in entertainment, media, or complex labor environments
- Familiarity with Workday HCM integrations
- Experience with payroll reconciliation and parallel testing
- Background in process transformation and automation initiatives
- Ability to translate complex business rules into system requirements
