Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health in Jersey City is seeking a Director of Patient Care (RN) for Medical Surgical Unit III. This role leads clinical teams, ensures age-appropriate, high-quality nursing care, and partners with education, quality assurance, and administration to align with hospital standards.

The position requires active NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS, a BSN, and prior 3–5 years of acute nursing with charge experience; MSN preferred. This is a full-time day shift with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing (or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement)
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification and ACLS certification required
• MSN preferred; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required

Responsibilities

• Ensure quality age-appropriate nursing care on the unit per hospital standards
• Develop, implement, and maintain unit budget and staffing plans
• Mentor staff and manage scheduling; participate in nursing quality assurance and policy development
