Job summary

Basepoint Building Automations seeks a Director of Operational Technology, Controls to lead the OT programming team, define network standards with IT, and drive scalable, secure control-system solutions for commercial projects.

You will shape the OT roadmap, oversee tool standards, and coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Field Operations to deliver reliable building automation and security systems while mentoring staff and advancing best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in operational technology (OT) or related technology environments.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing technical teams.
• Demonstrated experience leading software development, controls programming, system integration, and commissioning activities for complex commercial or industrial projects.
• Experience evaluating, selecting, and implementing new technologies, software platforms, and vendor solutions.
• Demonstrated success developing technical standards, engineering processes, quality assurance programs, and scalable operational procedures.
• Experience working collaboratively with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, Field Operations, Service, and Information Technology organizations.
• Strong understanding of applicable industry standards, cybersecurity frameworks, and regulatory requirements related to operational technology and industrial control systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with all organizational levels
• Data analysis skills for performance monitoring and decision-making
• Results-oriented with strong accountability and ownership mindset

Responsibilities

• Lead OT programming, establishing standards, documentation, and development methodologies for consistency and scalability.
• Define and maintain OT network architecture standards with IT for secure, scalable, and compliant systems.
• Oversee reusable code libraries, templates, standards, and best practices across automation, security, and control systems.
• Guide the strategic vision for OT by monitoring emerging technologies and customer needs.
• Set standards for OT platforms, tools, environments, and internal solutions to improve efficiency.
• Develop and execute the OT roadmap to improve capabilities and integration.
• Manage programming team capacity, workload, and resource planning for projects and service demands.
• Develop departmental goals, budgets, and performance metrics with continuous improvement initiatives.
• Plan customer training for automation, security, and control systems at project turnover.
• Evaluate new technologies and partner with Sales, Engineering, and Field Operations to align with strategy.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration to ensure OT solutions align with business objectives.
