Job summary

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee seeks a Director of Operations/Deputy Food Safety Officer to lead warehousing, receiving, and distribution across multiple sites. You’ll drive inventory control, quality standards, and facilities maintenance while partnering with leadership to advance the organization’s mission.

You will manage budgets, build strong cross-functional teams, and champion safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the Operations division.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of Operations Management experience in warehousing & logistics.
• Experience in multi-site operations and food industry desirable.
• Ability to organize, coach, and evaluate teams and performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee warehousing, receiving, storage, inventory control, and distribution at all locations.
• Direct budget development and monitor costs, vendor performance, and resources.
• Collaborate across departments to align priorities and improve efficiency.
• Lead safety programs, training, and compliance with regulations and standards.
• Develop staff and future leaders through coaching and feedback.
