Job summary

Seafarer Capital Partners in Larkspur, CA seeks a Director of Business Operations to manage fund administration, LLC management, compliance, HR, technology, and premises. This full-time exempt role requires hybrid in-office and remote work with minimal travel.

The candidate should bring a decade of experience in investment management or related fields, strong leadership, and the ability to drive growth for a small, dynamic firm.

Qualifications

• MBA, Master's degree, CFA, CIMA and/or CFP preferred.
• Minimum of ten years of work experience in the investment management industry or ancillary industries (e.g. finance technology, regulations and compliance, financial marketing and distribution).
• Strong understanding of the investment management industry. Knowledge of mutual fund structures, financial markets, asset allocation, financial advisory practices, and segments of the wealth management industry.
• Strong preference for those who can demonstrate experience and acumen in compliance, finance, and technology.
• Experience leading and managing small to medium-sized teams; negotiating agreements; and utilizing legal resources.
• Strong relationship management and organizational skills; high integrity and professionalism; entrepreneurial drive in a small, dynamic company.
• Professional experience with and/or analysis of international markets; overseas travel experience preferred.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee six key functions: fund administration, LLC management, compliance, HR, technology and premises.
• Manage communications with investment advisory clients, including Board reporting and the 15(c) request.
• Oversee fund regulatory updates, distributions, tax filings and related compliance.
• Coordinate the distribution and share class structure of funds and platform fee agreements.
• Provide vendor oversight, contract reviews, and fee analysis.
• Contribute to RFIs and due diligence requests; oversee contracts with service providers.
• Oversee renewal of fund borrowing facilities and financial statements.
• Serve on key committees (Proxy, Transaction Monitoring, GIPS).
• Manage other fund administration workflows and future Seafarer products.
• Support product planning and launches for clients; grow the business.
