Job summary

Bluegrass Supply Chain seeks a Director of Operations to lead and scale multi-site warehousing and transportation management operations. You will drive performance, align processes with strategic goals, and partner with senior leadership to optimize financial and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field.
• MBA or other Masters degree in logistics, supply chain, etc., strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive operations leadership experience, preferably within a 3PL or warehousing environment.
• Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and executive presentation skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic problem-solving, project management, and process improvement.
• Proven leadership, negotiation, and change management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership oversight across multiple locations or business units.
• Serve as a key liaison between operational teams and senior leadership.
• Drive alignment between operations strategy and company growth objectives.
• Establish and monitor quality control and performance management systems.
• Evaluate workflows to improve efficiency, cost, safety, and service quality.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts.
• Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Maintain a strong customer-centric focus and ensure SLAs are met.
• Oversee labor planning, workforce optimization, and resource allocation.
• Manage equipment, materials, and assets for optimal utilization.

Position Summary

The Director of Operations reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer and provides strategic and operational leadership across multiple facilities and/or customer-based business units.

This role is responsible for driving overall operational performance, ensuring processes are efficient, scalable, and aligned with Bluegrass Supply Chain’s strategic objectives. The Director plays a critical role in operational excellence, customer satisfaction, financial performance, and team member engagement.

• Evaluate and implement technology solutions, including WMS enhancements and automation tools.
