Job summary

Emperor Rentals is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead day-to-day operations and propel growth across five departments. You will report to the owner as the company’s number-two, overseeing a team of about 16 and managing department P&Ls. Build and refine SOPs and scalable systems while developing strong managers.

This hands-on role requires ownership mindset, weekend/urgent support flexibility, and a path toward General Manager responsibilities as the company expands.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience running operations with direct accountability for results.
• Experience managing managers and leading a team of at least 10 people.
• Demonstrated P&L accountability and measurable improvements.

Position Summary

Emperor Rentals is ready to bring on an experienced, results-driven Director of Operations to lead our day-to-day operations and help take the company to the next level.

Reporting directly to the owner, you'll serve as the company's number-two leader, overseeing five departments and a team of approximately 16 employees. You'll take ownership of operational performance, department P&Ls, manager development, and the systems and processes needed to support our continued growth.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership, developing capable managers, solving operational challenges, and creating structure in a growing organization. You'll have the autonomy to make meaningful improvements while allowing the owner to focus on sales and business expansion.

As Emperor Rentals grows, this position offers a clear opportunity to advance into a General Manager role.

What You'll Do

Take full ownership of daily operations across Property Care Management, Housekeeping, Maintenance & Repairs, Guest Services, and Owner Relations.

Lead Property Care Managers who own property condition, readiness, standards, and homeowner relationships for their assigned portfolios.

Oversee turnovers, linens, and housekeeping quality standards.

Manage in-house maintenance technicians and the vendor network to deliver reliable property care and repairs.

Lead the remote Guest Services team and maintain seven-day guest support coverage.

Own homeowner retention, operational escalations, and service standards across the portfolio.

Own the operating P&L for these departments and use a clear operational scorecard to improve results.

Document, build, and improve SOPs and scalable operating systems, reducing recurring problems and dependence on the owner.

Hire, develop, and hold managers accountable for their teams and results.

Report directly to the owner and build the operational capacity needed for portfolio growth.

Required Qualifications

At least 5 years of experience running operations with direct accountability for results.

Experience managing managers and leading a team of at least 10 people.

Demonstrated P&L accountability, including specific operational metrics owned and measurable improvements delivered.

A background in multi-site or field operations, such as property management, hospitality, restaurant groups, home services, logistics, or facilities.

Ability to build SOPs, operating systems, and management accountability without being handed an established playbook.

Sound judgment and the ability to take ownership of escalations while building systems that prevent recurring problems.

Availability to work on-site across Tampa Bay, including Hillsborough and Pinellas counties, with flexibility for weekends, storms, and urgent operational needs.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in vacation rental management, property management, or hospitality is helpful.

Candidates with transferable leadership experience in restaurant groups, home services, logistics, facilities, or other multi-site or field operations are welcome.

Direct vacation rental industry experience is not required.

Compensation, Benefits & More

Compensation: $100,000 annually with on-track total earnings of $125,000+ (with upside as the portfolio grows)

Bonus: Profit share tied to a clear operational scorecard. Scorecard measures and calculation details will be explained during the interview.

Location & Schedule: Full-time, on-site in Tampa Bay (Hillsborough and Pinellas counties). Schedule varies with operational needs and requires flexibility for weekends, guest check-ins, storms, and urgent issues. This is not a predictable Monday-to-Friday-only role.
