Job summary

MITER Brands in Clovis, CA is seeking a Director of Operations to lead safe, efficient manufacturing with a focus on on-time delivery and customer satisfaction. This role manages a plant workforce in a 24x5 environment, requiring shift flexibility and a strong emphasis on Lean practices and employee development.

You will oversee plant leadership, drive Lean and continuous improvement, manage P&L and budgets, and partner with Sales, Quality, and HR to develop and retain top talent in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering or Manufacturing Operations (or equivalent job-related experience).
• Lean / Six Sigma certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 15 years of leadership in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven results using Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies to drive improved KPIs in safety, quality, productivity, waste reduction, and profitability.
• Demonstrated track record of developing people through intentional coaching and mentoring.
• Prolonged sitting and terminal use, ability to move around a manufacturing environment; must be able to move and lift materials up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership to plant management team; establishes priorities and provides resources needed to accomplish on-time delivery of quality products
• Accountable for plant P&L, inventory levels, and direct and indirect labor costs
• Monitors plant capacity, coordination and communication with Sales Leadership regarding delivery and production status
• Facilitates resolution of customer complaints regarding quality and delivery schedules
• Responsible for developing team members; improving processes; reducing costs; quality monitoring and improvements; new product development and implementation; superior customer service; and on-time delivery
• Reviews production costs and production quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance the profitable operation of plant
• Reviews activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revises objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions
• Incorporates MITER Quality Pillars into day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to the MITER Guiding Principles
• Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, terminating, disciplining and coaching team members
• Direct supervision of Production Managers, Quality Manager, Maintenance Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager, and frequent partnership with Materials Manager, Sales Manager, Service Manager, Controller, HR and EHS Leadership
• Indirect responsibility for 400+ team members

Compensation Range: $167,000 - $190,000 plus a generous bonus depending on relevant experience and qualifications

Work schedule: This is a 24x5 manufacturing plant. While a majority of your time will typically be spent on day shift, flexibility to be present on both shifts is required.

Position Summary

The Director of Operations leads the effort towards safe, effective and efficient utilization of all team members and physical facilities to achieve desired results in accordance with policies, principles, and established procedures. Identifies and develops a structure that will support business objectives. Drive continuous improvement at all levels. Participates with management team members in training efforts, succession planning and developmental opportunities of staff.
