Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Director of Operations for the Charlotte/Greensboro, NC market to lead field operations across overhead and underground electric distribution projects. This role focuses on utility distribution infrastructure, coordinating with utilities, contractors, and external crews supporting power delivery systems.

It is not a facilities-only role. The Director will own regional operations, including P&L, safety, execution, and client delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in electric utility distribution or utility construction.
• Direct experience supporting overhead and/or underground distribution projects.
• Experience working with utility companies, contractors, and external crews.
• Demonstrated experience managing field-based operations across multiple job sites.
• Prior P&L ownership or budget responsibility.
• Experience leading supervisors, field teams, or operations managers.
• Ability to read and interpret distribution prints and job packages.
• Strong understanding of distribution voltages (sub-transmission down through secondary).

Day-to-Day:

Insight Global is seeking a Director of Operations in the Charlotte/Greensboro, NC market to lead field operations across overhead and underground electric distribution projects. This role is heavily focused on utility distribution infrastructure, including coordination with utility providers, contractors, and external crews supporting power delivery systems. This is not a facilities-based role. The Director will oversee work happening outside of buildings, including pole line work, underground distribution, and utility-facing construction activities. The Director will have full ownership of regional operations, including P&L, safety, execution, and client delivery. They will lead multiple Operations Managers and field teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time and in alignment with utility standards.
