Job summary

Inova Peterson Life with Cancer Center in Northern Virginia seeks a dedicated Manager of Oncology Navigation and Counseling to lead the adult psychosocial behavioral health team across inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and a dedicated counseling center.

This role oversees care standards, budgets, team development, and collaboration with cancer services and community resources to improve outcomes for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in related fields.
• Experience: 5+ years in progressive nursing/social work with oncology focus.
• Coordination: Experience coordinating community health programs.
• Knowledge: Understanding of community healthcare systems, resources and data analysis methods.
• Research: Experience in clinical research.
• Licensure: LPC, LCSW or RN license in Virginia.
• Certification: Certification in area of specialty within required timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Partner with community organizations to improve the continuum of care for specific patient populations.
• Works with Oncology Services, system-wide, to promote healthcare programs to community-based resources by developing materials and presentations.
• Provides safe and therapeutic care to facilitate patients' outcomes.
• Reviews and evaluates the plan of care for staff; revises plans based on patient responses.
• Serves as liaison to Life with Cancer services and community resources.
• Monitors documentation and support services for patient outcomes.
• Coordinates and monitors annual budgets for operating units and monitors financial performance.
• Measures patient satisfaction with services and education impact.
