Job summary

HCRS is seeking a Director of Nursing to provide strategic leadership for nursing services across its mental health, crisis, residential, and developmental programs in southeastern Vermont. The role emphasizes safety, person-centered care, trauma-informed practice, and recovery-oriented services.

• Master's in nursing preferred or Bachelor’s with leadership experience in a Director role.
• Current, unrestricted RN license in VT and NH.
• At least three years of nursing leadership, management, or supervisory experience.
• Experience in mental health, developmental/residential services, or substance use settings.
• Knowledge of medication management, nursing delegation, and quality improvement.
• Experience developing clinical policies, training, and competency standards.
• Experience supervising nursing staff and coaching.
• Proficiency with EHRs and standard business tech.
• CPR certification and valid driver's license with ability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for nursing services across agency programs.
• Ensure nursing services are safe, accessible, person-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented.
• Oversee policy development, compliance, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Lead staff development, supervision, and performance coaching.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support individuals served.

The pay for this position is $135,000-$145,000 annually.
3 weeks (pro-rated) paid vacation to start & excellent health/dental/vision coverage!

HCRS is seeking a full time Director of Nursing to join our team. The Nursing Director provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for nursing services across the agency's mental health and substance use, crisis, residential, and developmental services programs. The Nursing Director ensures that nursing services are safe, accessible, person-centered, trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, and responsive to the complex behavioral and physical health needs of the individuals served. Master's degree in nursing preferred or Bachelor's degree with 3 years of leadership experience.

To Be Considered, You Will Have

• Master's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program or a Bachelor's Degree with three years of leadership experience in a Director or similar role.
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the states of Vermont and New Hampshire.
• At least three years of nursing leadership, management, or supervisory experience.
• Experience working in mental health, developmental services, residential services, substance use treatment, or a related human services setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medication management, nursing delegation, clinical risk management, and quality improvement.
• Experience developing clinical policies, protocols, training programs, and competency standards.
• Experience supervising, coaching, and developing nursing staff.
• Proficiency with electronic health records, clinical documentation systems, and standard business technology.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel between service locations.
