Job summary

MediLodge of Munising is seeking a Director of Nursing (RN) to lead the facility's nursing program and ensure the highest quality of care. The role oversees staff development, clinical protocols, budgeting, scheduling, and survey readiness in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment.

Requirements include a BSN preferred, valid RN license in Michigan, CPR certification, and a minimum of three years in a director or equivalent supervisory nursing role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• Valid RN license in the state employed.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Three years’ experience as a Director of Nursing or equivalent supervisory nursing role.

Responsibilities

• Plans and guides the professional development of nursing staff.
• Rounds on unit daily and ensures clinical protocols and policies are followed.
• Develops systems to assure clinical competencies and training needs.
• Performs management tasks including interviewing, hiring, and evaluating staff.
• Plans meetings and committees to address resident care issues.
• Develops staffing schedulers and nurse on-call systems.
• Manages department budget and controls expenses.
• Addresses resident/family/employee concerns and survey readiness.
