Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring a Director of Nursing to lead the direct care staff in delivering nursing services, enabling residents to maintain physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

The role governs overall quality and supervision of nursing staff, aligning with our person-centered care approach. Requires active nursing licensure in the state of practice and strong leadership in long-term care settings.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current, active nursing license in the state of practice.
• CPR and First Aid Certification must be current.
• Knowledge of state nursing regulations in long-term care/assisted living.
• Continuing education hours required for license.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compassionate, quality care for all residents.
• Participate in recruitment and hiring of nursing staff.
• Complete resident assessments and service plans per regulations.
• Assess and plan for residents’ clinical needs incl. admissions/ transfers.
• Coordinate nursing services with other departments (maintenance, pharmacy, dietary, etc.).
• Market the community through tours, health fairs, and events.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and reimbursement rules.
• Communicate policies to staff and monitor adherence.
• Evaluate performance of nursing personnel and address disciplinary actions.
