Job summary

Spring Valley Health & Rehab is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee clinical operations and lead nursing teams. The role focuses on compassionate leadership, regulatory readiness, and high-quality resident care in a skilled nursing setting.

You will develop care plans, monitor outcomes, mentor staff, and collaborate with medical directors and regulatory bodies to ensure excellence in care delivery.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; current RN license in the state of employment required.
• CPR certification and knowledge of infection control best practices required.
• Minimum 2–3 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in skilled nursing or long-term care.
• Proven ability to manage staffing, scheduling, training, and clinical compliance.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations, survey processes, and QAPI initiatives.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead by example and foster a positive, team-oriented culture.
• Passion for serving older adults and delivering high-quality, person-centered care.
• Adaptability, resilience, and a solutions-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing and clinical services, ensuring quality care and regulatory compliance.
• Lead care planning, policies, and procedures to meet resident needs.
• Monitor outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and drive performance through data and quality metrics.
• Collaborate with medical directors, pharmacy consultants, and regulatory agencies as needed.
• Partner with other department leaders to support interdisciplinary communication and resident-centered care.
• Work with the Executive Director on staffing, budgeting, and strategic planning.
• Support resident wellness and family engagement.
