General Summary:
Henry Ford Health is currently seeking an Emergency Department Director to join our team.This nursing leader has overall responsibility for all of the activities within the Emergency Department. They are responsible for providing a climate in which professional nursing is practiced. This leader participates in department-specific and interdepartmental strategic planning. They are responsible for activities relating to quality patient care, decision making, problem solving and all leadership functions. Stimulates a collaborative multidisciplinary team approach in the continuous improvement of quality, safety, and service for patients. Ensures regulatory compliance of departments within scope.
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
1.Provides leadership and strategic direction for Emergency Services that is aligned with organizational goals.
2.Maintains a collaborative relationship with other hospital departments.
3.Participates and contributes to assigned committees, teams, task forces, including community service, if applicable.
4.Directs and provides leadership in financial matters regarding budgeting and cost control and revenue generation.
5.Provides leadership and direction for improving patient/customer satisfaction.
6.Establishes, monitors, and is accountable for unit productivity in relation to benchmarks and ensures appropriate staffing at all times to meet the needs of the patients.
7.Establishes and maintains excellent physician relationships and works to resolve problems in a timely manner.
8.Ensures team leaders and staff have the appropriate qualifications, orientation and competency and works to continually assist in their development.
9.Actively participates in Performance Improvement/Outcome Management activities for high reliability.
Education & Experience:
*Bachelor's degree in Nursing Required.
*Minimum of five (5) years of clinical leadershipexperience.
*Master's degree in Nursing, Business Management or other related fieldpreferred.
*Previous leadership experience in an acute hospital Emergency Department (ED) setting at the manager or Director level preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
*Current license to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.
*Current BLS/ACLS required.
*TNCC, ENPC certification preferred.
Certifications as a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN), Nurse Executive (NE-BC or NEA-BC), or Nurse Leader (CNML or CNL) are a plus
