Qualifications

Position Description

Director of Nursing for Ashford Hall – Irving, TX

The primary purpose of your job position is to plan, organize, develop and direct the overall operation of our Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and the Medical Director, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

Responsibilities

  1. Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel (RN's, LVN's, CNA's, Med Aides, etc.)
  2. Ensure top-quality resident care
  3. Guide staffing procedures
  4. Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department
  5. Organize and coordinate admission, nursing and patient care procedures
  6. Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high quality standards
  7. Control budgets and monitor expenditures
  8. Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed
  9. Manage electronic record-keeping procedures
  10. Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations
  11. Report to upper management

Skills

  1. Proven experience as director of nursing
  2. In-depth knowledge of hospital procedures and KPI/KQIs of patient care
  3. Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting
  4. Great knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare
  5. Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration
  6. Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel
  7. Great communication and people skills
  8. Outstanding organizational and stress management skills
  9. Aptitude in problem-solving
  10. Degree in nursing; Master’s degree in nursing or healthcare administration is a plus
  11. Valid nursing and CPR certification

Education

  1. Must possess, as a minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college/university.

Experience

  1. Must have, as a minimum, three (3) years’ experience as a fully-functioning SNF/LTC Director of Nursing.
  2. Must have, as a minimum, six (6) years’ experience as a practicing Registered Nurse.
  3. Must have knowledge of EMR - electronic medical record systems, MatrixCare specifically preferred, Microsoft Office suite, and general office machines and equipment.

  1. From $110,000.00 per year, depending on experience
