Description:

The Director of Nursing is responsible for developing and maintaining nursing service objectives and standards of nursing practice. They have administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for the functions, activities, and training of nursing staff. They plan, develop, and implement care delivery systems, orient, instruct, and supervise personnel, and coordinate nursing services with other departments. They ensure supplies and equipment are adequate and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local standards to ensure quality care outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Must be a currently licensed Registered Nurse in Minnesota, with training in rehabilitation nursing, gerontology, nursing service administration, management, supervision, and psychiatric or geriatric nursing within the first twelve (12) months of appointment.
• Must have or seek certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and emergency care for healthcare providers.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills for directing resident care.
