Description :

The Director of Nursing is accountable for the development and maintenance of nursing service objectives and standards of nursing practice. They have administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for functions, activities, and training of nursing staff. They are responsible for planning, developing, and implementing care delivery systems. The Director orients, instructs, and supervises personnel and functions. They coordinate nursing services with other departments, maintain supplies and adequate equipment, and ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local standards and regulations to assure quality outcomes of care.

Qualifications :

• Must be a Registered Nurse, currently licensed by the State of Minnesota, with training in rehabilitation nursing, gerontology, nursing service administration, management, supervision, and psychiatric or geriatric nursing before or within the first twelve (12) months after appointment as Director of Nursing Services.
• Must have successfully completed or seek certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and emergency care for the healthcare provider.
• Must possess the ability to communicate verbally and in writing when directing the care of residents.
