Job summary

Zenith Healthcare is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to provide clinical leadership and oversee resident care in a skilled nursing/long-term care setting in Massachusetts. The DON will lead nursing services, coach staff, and ensure compliance with CMS and state regulations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians and leadership teams, budgeting, and maintaining high care standards. A Monday–Friday leadership schedule and comprehensive benefits are offered to support your success.

Qualifications

• Experience in skilled nursing facility or long-term care.
• Previous DON/ADON/Unit Manager leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of CMS regulations and state survey processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all nursing services to ensure high resident care and clinical excellence.
• Provide direction, coaching, and support to nursing managers and staff while promoting growth and accountability.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and clinical practices to maintain quality outcomes.
• Coordinate with physicians, department heads, and interdisciplinary team members to support resident-centered care.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, CMS standards and other regulatory requirements.
• Monitor clinical performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement quality initiatives.
• Assist with staffing oversight, scheduling, budgeting, and allocation of clinical resources.

DON Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all nursing services to ensure the highest level of resident care and clinical excellence

• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and clinical practices to maintain quality outcomes


• Coordinate with physicians, department heads, and interdisciplinary team members to support resident-centered care

• Monitor clinical performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement initiatives that enhance quality and resident satisfaction

• Foster positive relationships with residents, families, physicians, and community partners while representing the organization professionally

Requirements:

• Skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care experience


• Previous experience as a DON, ADON, Unit Manager, or other nursing leadership role


• Working knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey processes, and regulatory compliance
