Mountain City Rehab Center in Frostburg, Maryland, is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our Nursing Service Department. The DON will plan, organize, and direct clinical operations in compliance with Federal, State, and Local standards.

You will supervise nursing staff, hire and onboard new team members, and collaborate with physicians and executives to ensure high-quality resident care. The role requires an active Maryland RN license and a minimum of one year of nursing home

Qualifications

• Valid Maryland RN license (active) required.
• Minimum 1 year nursing home experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the nursing department.
• Develop, maintain and implement nursing policies and procedures.
• Interview, hire, and onboard nursing staff.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate nursing staff.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information.
• Collaborate with doctors and executives on resident care.
• Design and manage continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Job Summary:

Mountain City Rehab Center, a beautiful 99-bed skilled nursing facility located in Frostburg, Maryland, is seeking a talented and dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our Nursing Service Department. As a key member of our leadership team, the DON will plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current Federal, State, and Local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Lead daily operations for the nursing department and nursing services
• Act as a liaison between the Administrator and nursing services administration
• Develop, maintain, review, and implement written nursing policies and procedures that govern day-to-day functions
• Make regular rounds to assure optimal quality of care is provided
• Interview, select, hire, and on-board new nursing staff
• Supervise, train, and evaluate nursing staff
• Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information
• Demonstrate respect of resident rights and dignity
• Provide direct patient care when necessary
• Investigate resident complaints
• Collaborate with doctors and executives on resident care, communicating any issues
• Design and manage continuous quality improvement initiatives
• Observe all required infection prevention and control policies and procedures
• Observe safety policies and report any safety concerns
• Ensure that all guidelines, regulations, and standards are followed
