Summary

The Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the Nursing Services Department's overall functions.

Job Functions

1. Planning, organizing, developing, and directing the clinical department's overall functions.
2. Assisting in developing assessments and care plans for residents.
3. Developing departmental budgets for equipment, supplies, and labor.
4. Reacting decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
5. Directing and motivating staff.
6. Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing and licensed by the State.
2. BSN preferred.
3. At least 3 years of supervisory experience in skilled nursing or relevant healthcare settings.
4. Knowledge of rehabilitative and restorative nursing, medical practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines in long-term care.
5. Effective communication skills with residents, staff, and the community.
