Chatham Hills Subacute Care Center in New Jersey seeks an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing services and oversee all clinical operations in a skilled nursing/subacute setting.

The DON will drive regulatory compliance, quality initiatives, and staff development, ensuring exceptional resident outcomes and a compassionate, team-based culture.

Qualifications

• RN license in New Jersey is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in SNF or subacute rehab.
• Prior DON or Assistant DON experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of CMS regulations and health survey processes.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of all nursing services and clinical operations.
• Ensure the highest standards of resident care and clinical excellence.
• Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain a high-performing nursing team (RNs, LPNs, CNAs).
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (DOH).
• Lead quality improvement initiatives, infection prevention, and clinical metrics.
• Prepare for and manage state surveys and inspections.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team for resident outcomes.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, labor management, and budgets.

Chatham Hills Subacute Care Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team and oversee all nursing operations within our skilled nursing and subacute facility. This is an outstanding opportunity for a proven nursing leader who is committed to delivering exceptional resident care, fostering staff development, and maintaining regulatory excellence.

As the Director of Nursing, you will play a vital role in shaping clinical outcomes, supporting our dedicated nursing team, and driving a culture of quality, accountability, and compassion.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of all nursing services and clinical operations.
• Ensure the highest standards of resident care and clinical excellence.
• Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain a high-performing nursing team, including RNs, LPNs, and CNAs.
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including Department of Health requirements.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives, infection prevention programs, and clinical performance metrics.
• Prepare for and successfully manage state surveys and regulatory inspections.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Subacute Rehabilitation setting.
• Prior experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing preferred.
• Strong understanding of CMS regulations, Department of Health survey processes, and quality assurance programs.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
