Brookfield Healthcare Center in Brookfield, MO, a 60-bed skilled nursing facility, seeks a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead clinical operations and inspire a culture of clinical excellence and resident-centered care.

The DON will partner with the administrator and interdisciplinary leadership to achieve regulatory readiness, quality outcomes, and staff development across the nursing team. This is a dynamic leadership role within AMA-LTC's growing Missouri footprint.

Qualifications

• Current Missouri RN license or eligible for Missouri practice (compact state).
• Experience as DON or ADON in a skilled nursing facility.
• Experience with behavioral health, dementia, and complex clinical needs.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and state survey processes.
• Proven staff development, leadership coaching, and team-building skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for nursing operations in a 60-bed SNF.
• Collaborate with the administrator and interdisciplinary team to achieve clinical and regulatory outcomes.
• Ensure CMS compliance, regulatory readiness, and successful surveys.
• Oversee resident care, documentation, infection prevention, QA/QI initiatives.
• Lead staff education, orientation, and leadership development.
• Recruit and mentor nursing leaders and frontline staff.
• Drive improvements in CMS Quality Measures, staffing, and resident satisfaction.
• Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Provide calm, decisive leadership in a changing healthcare environment.
• Support care for residents with behavioral health, psychiatric disorders, and dementia.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing operations within our 60-bed Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).

• Partner with the Nursing Home Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership team to achieve exceptional clinical, regulatory, and operational outcomes.

• Ensure CMS compliance, regulatory readiness, and successful state survey performance.

• Oversee resident care, clinical documentation, infection prevention, quality assurance, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Lead staff education, orientation, ongoing clinical training, and leadership development.

• Recruit, mentor, and develop nursing leaders and frontline staff.

• Drive improvements in CMS Quality Measures, staffing, resident satisfaction, and clinical outcomes.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Provide calm, decisive leadership in a changing healthcare environment while maintaining a strong focus on resident-centered care.

• Support the care of residents with behavioral health diagnoses, psychiatric disorders, dementia, and other medically complex conditions.

Qualifications

• Current Missouri Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact state license eligible for Missouri practice.

• Previous experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

• Experience caring for residents with behavioral health diagnoses, psychiatric disorders, dementia, and other complex clinical needs required.

• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, the state survey process, and regulatory compliance.

• Demonstrated success in staff development, clinical education, leadership coaching, and team building.

• Ability to lead through change, manage multiple priorities, and achieve measurable quality improvements.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
