University Nursing and Rehab is seeking a qualified Director of Nursing (DON). The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of DON experience, demonstrate strong leadership skills, and be customer service focused.

Responsibilities of the Director of Nursing (DON):

1. Provide care and services in a safe and efficient manner
2. Ensure quality performance and conformance with regulations and laws
3. Participate in state/federal nursing home survey process
4. Develop and implement plans of correction
5. Participate in QA/CQI processes
6. Perform and oversee preadmission assessments promptly
7. Provide care within the scope of the state’s nurse practice act
8. Prepare clinical and progress notes and summaries of care
9. Supervise, educate, and coach nursing staff
10. Plan and conduct in-service training programs
11. Maintain clinical records in compliance with laws
12. Stay informed about nursing field updates and share relevant information

Requirements of the Director of Nursing (DON):

• Registered Nurse license
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school
• At least 2 years of DON experience preferred
• Supervisory experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility required
• Knowledge of basic nursing skills
• Understanding of medication effects and side effects
• 5+ years of nurse management experience
