Job summary

MARIES MANOR in Vienna, Missouri is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing team and ensure high quality resident care.

The DON will coordinate care, develop policies, and maintain compliance with Long-Term Care regulations while managing staff, budgets, and performance. Flexibility for staffing needs and emergencies is required to maintain smooth operations and exceptional patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• 1 year of supervisory experience required.
• 2+ years in Long Term Care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate resident care with a hands-on management approach.
• Develop, review, and revise nursing policies and procedures.
• Work days with flexibility for staffing shortages or emergencies.
• Conduct employee performance evaluations and address disciplinary matters.
• Lead recruitment of qualified staff through interviews.
• Make independent decisions when warranted to ensure patient care quality.
• Foster collaboration with other departments to support patient care.

Director of Nursing Duties and Responsibilities:

• The coordination of resident care with a "hands on" management style

• Strong organizational skills

• Develops, reviews, and revises nursing and clinical policies

• Able to work days but also willing to be flexible during a staff shortage or emergency situation

• Conduct employee performance evaluations and disciplinary situations to ensure quality care of residents

• Ability to multi-task

• Knowledge of Long-Term Care Regulations

• Ability to lead in the recruitment of qualified staff by conducting interviews

• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant

• Ability to focus on customer service and collaboration with other departments to develop, support, and coordinate patient care and related functions

• Promote an atmosphere of respect, professional growth, and encouragement for all nursing staff members and assure regulatory standards and company goals are met or exceeded

• Responsible for cost controls by monitoring the use of supplies and equipment
