Job summary

Shepherd of the Hills Living Center in Branson, Missouri is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead and oversee our nursing team. The DON will coordinate resident care with a hands-on management style and ensure high-quality clinical operations in a long-term care setting.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license, have CPR/First Aid certification, and possess supervisory experience with 1 year minimum; long-term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience required (1 year).
• Long Term Care experience preferred (2 years).
• RN license is required.
• CPR/First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate resident care with a hands-on management style.
• Develop, review, and revise nursing policies and procedures.
• Conduct employee performance evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Recruit qualified staff through interviews and assessments.
• Lead in staffing decisions during shortages or emergencies.
• Ensure regulatory standards and company goals are met or exceeded.
• Monitor supplies and equipment to control costs.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate patient care.

SHEPHERD OF THE HILLS LIVING CENTER, located in Branson, Missouri is currently seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to join our team.

Director of Nursing Duties and Responsibilities:

• The coordination of resident care with a “hands on” management style
• Strong organizational skills
• Develops, reviews, and revises nursing and clinical policies
• Able to work days but also willing to be flexible during a staff shortage or emergency situation
• Conduct employee performance evaluations and disciplinary situations to ensure quality care of residents
• Ability to multi-task
• Knowledge of Long-Term Care Regulations
• Ability to lead in the recruitment of qualified staff by conducting interviews
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
• Ability to focus on customer service and collaboration with other departments to develop, support, and coordinate patient care and related functions
• Promote an atmosphere of respect, professional growth, and encouragement for all nursing staff members and assure regulatory standards and company goals are met or exceeded
• Responsible for cost controls by monitoring the use of supplies and equipment
