Join Our Team

The Director of Nursing is responsible for all nursing-related services for each client. They are involved in ongoing monitoring and evaluation to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of client care. Additionally, they participate in the development and evaluation of nursing unit personnel and maintain the medical aspects of the client care unit.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years experience with Skilled Nursing
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a supervisory role

Responsibilities

• Participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan meetings
• Stabilize clients according to unit protocol
• Monitor vital signs according to policies and procedures, conduct client checks, and observe or assign staff to assist with these tasks
• Ensure shift coverage at all times
• Facilitate monthly staff training sessions as needed
• Attend quarterly committee meetings: Performance Improvement, Leadership/Administrative, & Safety and Risk Management
• Attend bi-annual meetings for committees such as Pharmacy and Therapeutics, and Medical Services Review
• Serve as the Designee for the Infection Control Committee and handle associated responsibilities
• Act as the Medical Audit Staff, trained to audit and prepare for on-site audits
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary staff meetings
• Oversee doctor’s orders to pharmacy and ensure medication delivery
• Oversee all medication administration processes
• Conduct interviewing, hiring, and firing of nursing staff
• Review and complete performance evaluations for nursing staff
• Comply with all policies and procedures in accordance with state licensing standards and Joint Commission regulations
• Implement and monitor the Infection Control Team
• Protect client privacy in accordance with policies, procedures, and legal requirements, maintaining professionalism as a healthcare provider
