Role Description

The Director of Nursing is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Olympia, WA, responsible for overseeing clinical operations and nursing standards for home care services. This role manages nursing staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management, while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies. The Director of Nursing develops and implements clinical protocols, supervises patient care plans, and collaborates with physicians, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to support safe, high-quality long-term care. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring infection control practices, conducting chart and field audits, mentoring nurses, addressing escalated clinical concerns, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The role also involves communicating with families, supporting care coordination, and contributing to strategic planning for service expansion and enhancement.

Qualifications
  • Strong background in Nursing Management with proven experience leading and developing nursing teams.
  • Clinical expertise in Nursing and Medicine appropriate to adult and pediatric home care settings.
  • Knowledge and application of Infection Control standards within home health or long-term care environments.
  • Experience in Long-term Care, including complex, chronic conditions and family-centered care models.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Washington; BSN required, MSN or related graduate degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply state, federal, and accrediting body regulations for home care services.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Prior leadership experience in home health, private duty nursing, or similar community-based care setting is highly beneficial.
