Job summary

Atlantic Coast Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lakewood, NJ, is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical department and oversee all nursing operations. This full-time leadership role emphasizes patient care standards, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement in a skilled nursing setting.

Lead the nursing team, manage staffing, and collaborate with medical staff to ensure safe, compassionate care for residents.

Qualifications

• Active NJ State RN license required.
• BSN required.
• 3–4 years healthcare leadership experience in LTC/SNF.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the entire nursing department and clinical staff.
• Ensure resident care and nursing practices meet federal, state, and facility standards.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and maintaining 24/7 staffing ratios.
• Monitor care via rounds, enforce infection control, and investigate incidents.
• Screen residents to ensure care needs are met.
• Partner with medical staff and departments to support residents.
• Resolve complaints and maintain relationships with residents, families, staff and public.
• Manage the nursing department budget and resources.

This pivotal leadership role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of patient care, managing clinical staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and driving continuous quality improvement within our healthcare environment.

Currently Hiring Full Time DON Compensation:

• $150,000-$160,000/ year and is determined by experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct and manage the entire nursing department and clinical staff.
• Ensure all resident care and nursing practices meet federal, state, and facility standards.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and maintaining required 24/7 staffing ratios.
• Monitor care via daily rounds, enforce infection control, and investigate accidents.
• Screen prospective residents to ensure the facility meets their care needs.
• Partner with medical staff and other departments to ensure a supportive environment for residents.
• Resolve complaints and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and the public.
• Manage the nursing department budget and resources cost-effectively.
