Job summary

Ohana Pacific Health in Hilo, HI is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing to lead and coordinate nursing and clinical care across units, ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines.

The role oversees admissions, MDS and care planning processes, infection control, and daily resident rounds to uphold quality standards and timely responses to events. Requires 3+ years nursing experience and Hawaii RN license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years professional nursing experience.
• Experience in geriatrics, or long-term care preferred; management experience preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Hawaii required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees admission, discharge, and transfer processes.
• Provides oversight of MDS assessments, care planning and RAI process. Oversees Infection Control processes.
• Ensures continuity in provision of nursing services to meet established standards of quality.
• Oversees resident care and implementation of and compliance with resident-specific care plans.
• Conducts daily resident rounds, including regulatory compliance rounds, in all nursing units and assures follow-up on identified issues.

The Position:

• Provides oversight of MDS assessments, care planning and RAI process. Oversees Infection Control processes.
• Ensures continuity in provision of nursing services to meet established standards of quality such as reviews incident reports, accident and injury reports and 24-hour reports from units daily to ensure timely, effective responses to changes and resident events.
• Oversees resident care and implementation of and compliance with resident-specific care plans.
• Conducts daily resident rounds, including regulatory compliance rounds, in all nursing units and assures follow-up on identified issues.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years professional nursing experience required.
• Experience in geriatrics, or long-term care preferred; management experience preferred.
