Your day as a Director of Nursing - Long Term Care

As the Full-Time Director of Nursing - Long Term Care at Butterfield Trail Village, you will be responsible for the comprehensive oversight and coordination of nursing services, ensuring the general well-being of our residents. Your leadership will guide the delivery of high-quality nursing care, in full compliance with the ASBN Nurse Practice Act and a strict code of ethics. You will actively incorporate the ARNA core values and standards set by evidence-based practice, fostering a commitment to excellence and safety throughout the facility. Your role is vital in creating a nurturing and supportive environment that prioritizes the health and dignity of every resident, while promoting a culture of integrity and professionalism among the nursing staff.

Would you be a great Director of Nursing - Long Term Care?

To thrive as the Full-Time Director of Nursing - Long Term Care at Butterfield Trail Village, you must possess a range of skills that ensure the highest standards of care and operational excellence. A current RN license in good standing with the ASBN and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred) are essential qualifications. You should have at least five years of upper-level management experience in a long-term care or geriatric setting, demonstrating your leadership acumen.

Proficiency in MS Office and the ability to adapt to BTV-specific software are necessary for effective communication and documentation. Strong critical thinking skills are crucial for problem-solving, data analysis, and developing efficient systems to enhance care quality. Exceptional interpersonal skills, both written and oral, will help you build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members.

Your capacity for tactful communication in sensitive situations and respect for confidentiality will further enhance our community's integrity and trust.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Current RN license in good standing with ASBN.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
  • Must maintain all certifications and licensure,as well as any on-going training/education required by OLTC.
  • Five years or more of upper-level management experience in a long-term care or other geriatric setting is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office skills,with an ability to become familiar with BTV-specific programs and software.
  • Must incorporate critical thinking skills to define problems,collect data,establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills,writtenand oral communication.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positiveappropriate relationships with residents,families,coworkers,physicians and their representatives.
  • Uses tactfuldiplomatic communication techniques in potentially sensitive and/or emotionally charged situations.
  • Ability to define problems,collect data, establish facts,develop systems to reduce problems,educate others on the systemsand monitor results.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize job responsibilitiesand to work independently.
  • Must respect confidentiality of resident and coworker information.
  • Ability to rotate nursing call with other administrative nursing staff in order to provide a satisfactory answer/resolution to any nursing-related questions that arise after business hours.
