Marathon Staffing is seeking an Assistant Medical Director.

General Description

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer and within federal, state, and local guidelines, performs advanced (senior-level) nursing work. Responsibilities include planning, developing, coordinating, and evaluating nursing activities, as well as providing care and treatment for clients. The role may also involve serving as a resource on nursing practices and education programs through consultative and administrative work.

The position involves assigning and supervising staff, working under minimal supervision with significant independence and judgment.

Responsibilities

The Director of Nursing (DON) oversees the administration and evaluation of nursing services at the County MHMR Center. This includes determining nursing service needs, delegating nursing care and treatment, and supervising nursing staff across various teams such as Assertive Community Treatment, Mobile Crisis Outreach, Crisis Residential, Psychiatric Triage, and other MH units. The DON collaborates with the Chief Medical Officer and Clinic Operations Director to ensure smooth and efficient clinic operations. The role requires management experience and clinical expertise in mental health, with the ability to prioritize and coordinate services effectively.

The position ensures compliance with HHSC, Texas Board of Nurse Examiners rules, and other relevant laws and standards. The DON participates in planning, policy development, and program monitoring, and serves on the UM committee.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
• Minimum three years of administrative experience
• At least one year of experience working with individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities
• Current RN license in Texas in good standing
• Experience in policy development, infection control, and budget management

Additional Requirements

• Maintain Texas RN licensure and required continuing education
• Background check free of disqualifying offenses per TAC and HHSC standards
• Valid driver’s license and insurance; out-of-state license holders must obtain Texas license within 30 days
• Complete all position-specific training within 30 days of employment

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
