Job summary

The Bostonian Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Dorchester, MA is seeking a Full-Time Director of Nursing (DON) to join our 5-STAR CMS RATED leadership team. The role leads nursing services and shapes resident care.

You will oversee nursing staff, ensure quality outcomes, maintain regulatory compliance, and collaborate with other departments in a patient-centered, hands-on leadership capacity.

Qualifications

• Current MA RN license and CPR certification required.
• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in hospital, SNF, or related setting.
• At least one year of long-term care experience required.
• Previous nursing leadership and supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
• Knowledge of rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of nursing services to ensure high-quality resident care.
• Promote strong clinical outcomes and ensure nursing practices meet state and federal standards.
• Oversee, support, and develop nursing staff.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and utilization of resources.
• Collaborate with administration and other departments for coordinated care.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and care team members.
• Foster a positive, accountable environment for nursing staff.
• Remain hands-on and visible in day-to-day clinical operations.
