Job summary

The Bostonian Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Dorchester, MA seeks a Full-Time Director of Nursing (DON) to join a 5-STAR CMS rated leadership team. This role leads nursing services to deliver high-quality resident care in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment.

The DON will provide hands-on leadership, ensure staffing and compliance with state and federal standards, and promote exceptional clinical outcomes within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered Massachusetts RN license and CPR certification.
• Nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or related healthcare setting.
• At least one year of long-term care experience required.
• Previous nursing leadership and supervisory experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
• Knowledge of rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of nursing services to ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care.
• Promote strong clinical outcomes and ensure nursing practices meet applicable state and federal standards.
• Oversee, support, and develop nursing staff.
• Ensure appropriate staffing and utilization of resources.
• Collaborate with administration and other departments to maintain a coordinated interdisciplinary approach to care.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and members of the care team.
• Foster a positive, accountable, and supportive environment for nursing staff.
• Remain visible and engaged in day-to-day clinical operations, providing hands-on leadership when needed.
