Job summary

Great Lakes Management is seeking a Director of Nursing in Bloomington, MN. The RN licensed candidate will lead a team of healthcare professionals in an assisted living setting, guiding care quality and operations.

Hours are Monday–Friday with a salary range of $95,000–$110,000 per year. This role focuses on staff development, regulatory compliance, and resident-centered care in Amira Choice Bloomington.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in Minnesota.
• Supervisory experience in an Assisted Living setting preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in using resident record computerized systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of rules and regulations and apply them to meet the community's changing needs.
• Ensure residents' individual needs and preferences are met with compassion and dignity.
• Support the team with clinical supervision through defined roles, staffing models, processes, and metric monitoring.
• Adhere to clinical best-practice models to deliver high-quality, compliant resident-centered care.
• Implement and standardize policies, procedures, personnel management, quality improvement and compliance.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director to provide ongoing performance management and development for staff.
• Investigate and report incidents of suspected resident neglect and/or abuse to county officials in coordination with the Executive Director.
• Lead by example with attention to detail in resident care and wellbeing, and effective communication.
• Collaborate with Executive Director and Regional Team to determine staffing needs based on resident care levels.

Director of Nursing Responsibilities:

• As a key member of the Assisted Living leadership team, the Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of rules and regulations, keeping informed of industry standards, and applying knowledge to meet the changing needs of the community.
• Ensure residents' individual needs and preferences are consistently met with compassion and dignity, fostering a nurturing and empowering environment in the community.
• Supports the team in achieving high quality and efficient delivery of care with appropriate clinical supervision through standard role definitions, staffing models, clinical processes, and metric monitoring.
• Adherence to clinical best practice models and processes to deliver consistent high quality, efficient and compliant resident centered care.
• Implementation and standardization in the areas of policies and procedures, personnel management, quality improvement, compliance, clinical documentation.
• Collaborates with the Executive Director to provide ongoing performance management and development, focusing on high engagement and collaboration while promoting high levels of satisfaction and retention with staff.
• Investigating and reporting incidents of suspected resident neglect and/or abuse and reporting these findings to appropriate county officials, in coordination with the Executive Director.
• Leads by example, ensure outstanding attention to detail in resident care and wellbeing, demonstrate effective communication.
• Collaborates with Executive Director and Regional Team in determining staffing needs based on resident care levels to maintain quality care and safety.

Director of Nursing Qualifications:
