Qualifications

• Active Alabama RN license in good standing.
• Experience as Director of Nursing or senior nursing leadership.
• Skilled nursing/post-acute care experience preferred.
• Strong CMS regulatory knowledge and clinical compliance.
• Hands-on leadership style with teamwork and resident-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Lead nursing leadership and direct-care teams to ensure high-quality resident care.
• Oversee clinical services, resident care, and nursing department operations.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Promote quality outcomes and continuous clinical improvement.
• Partner with the Nursing Home Administrator and interdisciplinary team.
• Support recruitment, retention, orientation, and development of nursing staff.
• Monitor staffing, documentation, infection prevention, and resident safety.

Redmont Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced and inspiring Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team. Redmont is a 163-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation center with an overall 3-star CMS rating. Our Birmingham community provides short-term rehabilitation, long-term skilled nursing, memory care, and innovative therapy services, including AI and VR-supported therapy. We are proud of the experienced team and positive culture already in place, and we are looking for a Director of Nursing who wants to help us continue building on that foundation.

What You Will Do

The Director of Nursing will provide leadership and direction for all nursing services while promoting excellent resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational performance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead, mentor, and support the nursing leadership and direct-care teams
• Oversee clinical services, resident care, and nursing department operations
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Promote strong quality outcomes and continuous clinical improvement
• Partner closely with the Nursing Home Administrator and interdisciplinary team
• Support recruitment, retention, orientation, and development of nursing staff
• Monitor staffing, clinical documentation, infection prevention, and resident safety
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, employees, and community partners
• Create a workplace where employees feel valued, supported, and accountable

What We Are Looking For

• Current Alabama Registered Nurse license in good standing
• Previous Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or senior nursing leadership experience
• Skilled nursing, long-term care, or post-acute care experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations and clinical compliance standards
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain successful nursing teams
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
• A hands-on leadership style with a genuine commitment to teamwork and resident-centered care
