We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department in delivering high-quality, compassionate care. What You’ll Do (AKA: Your Superpowers ️️ )

Lead & Oversee Clinical Services:

  • Direct all nursing care services to ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility standards.
  • Implement and maintain nursing policies and procedures that align with best practices and regulatory expectations.
  • Participate in admissions, care planning, and resident care evaluations to promote quality of life.

Drive Regulatory Readiness & Quality Care:

  • Monitor key clinical indicators and proactively adjust systems to maintain excellence in care.
  • Prepare for surveys and audits by reviewing documentation and training staff on expectations.
  • Lead Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI) efforts across the department.

Inspire, Support & Manage Your Team:

  • Supervise nursing staff, oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and evaluations.
  • Provide mentorship, resolve concerns, and promote employee engagement and teamwork.
  • Ensure accurate scheduling, coverage, and compliance with OSHA safety mandates.

Foster Resident & Family Satisfaction:

  • Round regularly to interact with residents, families, and staff to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Address complaints and concerns with professionalism, compassion, and urgency.
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing, administration, and external healthcare partners.

Promote Safety, Infection Control, and Compliance:

  • Lead the facility’s infection prevention and control program.
  • Monitor workplace safety practices and investigate unusual occurrences, injuries, or incidents.
  • Maintain accurate records related to CNA/QMA certification, in-service education, and compliance.

What You Bring to the Table (Besides Exceptional Leadership )

Education & Licensure:

  • Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Nebraska.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; CPR certification preferred.

Experience & Expertise:

  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience in long-term care.
  • At least 3 years in a DON or nursing management role.
  • Familiarity with budgeting, staffing, quality indicators, and resident satisfaction initiatives.

Skills & Traits:

  • Outstanding communication, time management, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, CMS, state/federal nursing regulations, and survey processes.
  • Ability to interpret reports, analyze trends, and implement improvement plans.

Commitment & Availability:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including being on-call and responding to emergencies.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and remain mobile throughout the facility during rounds.
